JANE GOWAN - Design and Outreach

Jane Gowan is the Design and Outreach Coordinator for the Citizen Lab, where she works on complex visualizations of virtual internet-based censorship and surveillance patterns. She is also the owner of Agent 5 Design, a company she started in Vancouver, Canada in 2001. Her design includes book and album covers, technical guides, arts publications, publicity materials, logos, and websites for such clients as OpenNet Initiative, psiphon, The Vancouver Film Centre, Jazz Festivals Canada, and Waterkeepers Canada. She is also an associate with The SecDev Group.

Jane holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from the University of British Columbia, and a Music Diploma from Vancouver Community College.

Jane is the co-leader of the pop/rock band Spygirl, and also performs with her own group Shade.
